Quilts are versatile pieces that both provide warmth and serve decorative purposes. They can be used in any number of ways, including as: Bed coverings. The quilt adds sickness and softness to the top of the mattress, as well as preventing the comfort layers beneath from shifting or moving out of position. This quilting process keeps the layers from moving around, especially in a mattress that is softer or deeper. The repetitive motions of quilting and sewing help to relax our brain, which lessens the flight or fight response triggered by stress. The sense of accomplishment quilters feel when completing a project also ties directly into stress relief, as it boosts confidence in our creative abilities. A quilted mattress offers sleepers a very smooth finish and a high level of comfort.
